Wrapped up my June charters yesterday. Did 26 of them, but two days were halibut only as my group was tagged out on kings the first three days. Managed to get limits on all of my June days. Wasn't easy but it was possible. It's a very low abundance year so you really had to know what was going on and stick to the areas with fish. It wasn't like a high abundance year where you could burn fuel and expect to run into fish eventually. The majority of the king fishing for me
Limits the last five days mooching. One more day charter fishing. Then it’s gone commercial fishing for a week. I have limited every day I have chartered in June on kings. If you want kings in 2019 give me a call. Dates are disappearing fast. Pic is the Steenstra family with an absolute monster I guided to this last week.
Had a group of six for three days for Kingfisher. Limited on Kings daily as well as just about everything else. Two more groups in June. On day three took a hook from a flopping king right to the thumbnail to start off the day. Shook it off and kept fishing. Felt great. Haha
Tough NW Wind. Got out four kings by 545am. Took some teamwork with the troll. Released 3 big halibut on anchor and picked up a 44 inch lingcod. Then drifted for keeper halibut and black bass. Great group. Tagged out on all available species. Really enjoyed these last three days.
