Fishing is just hot. This is the type of fishing that has made Craig, Alaska a top charter fishing destination. Easy limits of nice cohos. Big kings. Halibut, lingcod, and yellow eye. Bent rods all day.
Things got easy the last week or so. The coho swarm is definitely here. Kings are still around. Limits of kings and cohos before 9am. Then it's on to great bottom fish. My anglers are averaging 45lbs of fillets each per day. That's a lot of premium fish after a three day trip!
Lots of Action
6 kings, 36 cohos, and 6 nice halibut. And one tired captain. It's not easy rolling out of bed at 3am, but being the first boat out there has its rewards.
That time of the year has arrived. Limits of kings and cohos as well as everything else. Longer days as the coho fishing is best in the afternoon but we are getting it done.
The season rolls on.
Fished kings commercially July 1-3. Did well and was happy with my score. Went right back to guiding on the 5th and have had amazing days days of loading the boat with great clients. Fishing is good. Kings, cohos, big halibut, and monster lings. July around Noyes island has it all. Hard work, no excuses. July 1 early morning catch ready to be iced. 81 kings on day one. Commercially caught king.
